Terms of Service
Effective June 20, 2026
Welcome to WE-TP (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a non-partisan social and civic engagement platform designed exclusively for verified U.S. citizens. By accessing or using WE-TP (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Non-Partisan Nature
WE-TP is strictly non-partisan. We do not endorse, support, or oppose any political party, candidate, or ideology. The platform facilitates open discussion, voter tools, and civic participation for all users regardless of political affiliation. Content moderation is applied equally to ensure a safe, civil environment free from harassment, misinformation, or illegal activity.
2. Eligibility and U.S. Citizenship Requirement
The Service is available only to individuals who are:
- U.S. citizens;
- At least 18 years old; and
- Legally eligible to vote in U.S. federal, state, or local elections.
You must attest to your eligibility during registration (see Attestation below). Non-citizens, non-voters, or those under 18 are prohibited from using the Service. Accounts found in violation will be suspended or terminated without refund.
3. Account Registration and Verification
To use the Service, you must create an account and complete identity verification by uploading a government-issued ID and selfie. This is required to ensure only eligible U.S. voters participate and to prevent foreign interference or bots.
- Verification is processed manually by admins for accuracy.
- Once verified, your account is activated. Role upgrades (e.g., to Runner or Politician) require additional approval.
- You agree to provide accurate information and not impersonate others.
4. Privacy and Data Safeguards
Your privacy is paramount. We collect only the minimum data necessary for verification, engagement, and legal compliance.
- Verification Documents: Uploaded IDs and selfies are used solely for identity verification. They are stored securely during pending admin review, accessible only to authorized administrators, and deleted immediately when an administrator approves or rejects your application. Pending applications may be auto-removed after 30 days.
- Personal Data: Profile data, posts, endorsements, and interactions are protected using HTTPS, rate limiting, session-based authentication, and role-based access controls. We never sell your name, contact details, address, ID documents or individual activity.
- Your Rights: California residents and other users may access, export, correct, and delete personal data through Settings (and the Privacy Policy API routes). Account deletion requires password and alias confirmation.
- Real-Time Features: Location-based interactions (e.g., district restrictions) use anonymized data only.
- Polls and research: Answering demographic questions is optional. WE-TP may sell or license poll results broken down by group (for example by age group, state or household income), as group totals only, with groups under 10 people withheld. You can opt out of research use at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security; see section 4 of the Privacy Policy.
For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
5. User Conduct
Post truthful, non-harassing content. No spam, threats, or election interference. Endorsements and petitions must comply with federal election laws (e.g., no foreign funding). We reserve the right to moderate, suspend, or terminate accounts for violations.
Petitions. Verified members may start petitions about public issues, laws, government actions and public officials, not about private individuals. Each member may start one petition a day and up to three a week. Duplicate petitions are not allowed; sign the existing one instead. Once anyone else has signed, the wording can’t be changed. Petitions that break these rules or this section may be removed, and repeat violations may lead to suspension.
6. Intellectual Property
You retain rights to your content but grant us a non-exclusive license to display it on the Service. Mullen Ventures LLC owns all platform features, logos, and trademarks.
7. Disclaimers and Limitations
The Service is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or accuracy of third-party integrations (e.g., Google Civic API). Liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
8. Termination
We may terminate your access for violations. You may delete your account anytime via settings.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
